The Businesslawlecturer

by

We do not have a subject called ‘Business Law’ but only one called the ‘Vibrant Subject of Business Laws’. We do not have a professor called Sebastian Tharakan, but only ‘Our Friend and The Businesslawlecturer Sebastian Tharakan’. Advocate Sebastian has made the otherwise concluded ‘dry subject’ of Business Law, really VIBRANT. His energy is infectious. His teaching style is truly amazing. His knowledge is supreme. Something very unique to his teaching style is that his case studies have characters whose names are that of the students of the class, which brings a greater involvement of the students in the course. Many a times I have felt that a subject is made vibrant by the teacher, the subjects by themselves have no life.  Although this post is very short and has no meat as such, I thought I still should have a post on this brilliant teacher.

    Hi!
Went through all your posts on eMEP….Will have to sum it up with a single word…FANTASTIC!!!!!…..i have been selected for the eMEP-08 batch and would be going to Kozikode for the incampus module scheduled for the 22nd to 27th Sep ’08….the contets of your blogs has not only reinforced my decision to choose the eMEP in comparision to other similar courses on offers from other IIMs(btw my deciding factor for opting the eMEP was the selection process…which weighs merit over anything else)….am all too excited to go back to school after 10 years(!!!)…can go on,but will wrap it up with a big THANKS for a great service you are doing on this blog on eMEP..Krish

I agree, he is a really good professor. He made the boring subject of business law really vibrant and interesting

Yeah. I truly agree. He is one of the rare doyens who brings sudden energy into the otherwise bland subject. He is a raconteur, who involves every student with a catchy adjective which makes the process of education more entertaining. I hope his ‘passion’ for ‘the vibrant subject’ would enthuse others to seriously consider Law as their priority in their careers. We are really fortunate to have him as our prof.
